Branden Pizarro is ready. He’s always ready. Tonight, Friday, April 26th, at the Met Philadelphia on Broad Street, he will face Tre’Sean Wiggins for the USA Pennsylvania State Super Lightweight Title.

Pizarro’s father and Trainer, Angel Pizarro, said that they are taking the match very seriously, but Pizarro’s team is confident. “He’s a tough guy – Southpaw,” Angel said of Wiggins. “It doesn’t fear us.”

Branden “The Gift” Pizarro held press availability on Wednesday at his gym located next to the Harrowgate PAL Center to talk about tonight’s Title Match. He goes into the ring with the support of a strong boxing team and a strong family which he credits for his success. “Without my team, there is no me,” he told the Juniata News. He feels that support when he steps into the ring. “Especially because I have my father in my corner,” he said. “So I know I have a heavy arsenal behind me.”

Pizarro is 14-1 with 7 knockouts, while his opponent is 11-4-1 with 6 knockouts. His team sees great things ahead. “He’s probably more dedicated than ever,” said Rufus Lovera, a part of Branden’s team since his second fight. “His strength is getting crazier as the days go by, along with his skills and abilities.” Lovera says that he sees that Pizarro wants victory more than ever now and he sees a change in him, being more focused and more determined to have the chance to be a world champion.

Joey Eye, Pizarro’s Cut Man, heaped praise on the young boxer. “I see him as one of the top prospects coming out of Philly in probably almost 25 years,” he said. At age 19, Pizarro is looking to be the youngest boxer to win this title.
